Prize Donations
for Spring
Conference
|
The APIC Spring Conference Committee is requesting prize donations such as
gift cards (gas, food, store), hand crafted items etc.These items can be
donated by members or through company representatives. The committee would
like these items by the begining of April as the conference is April 28.

HLAC Ready
for Public
Comment
|
Subject: HLAC Ready for Public Comment
HLAC Board, Inspectors, and Advisory Committee Chair:
The Standards document, with the current Parts I & II and the proposed
Part III, are now posted on the "Public Comment" button of the HLAC website
as one comprehensive document. As comments come in, I will log them into
an Excel spreadsheet for documenting and tracking purposes.
All systems ready to go for June 1-July 31 public comment period.

Subject: Hospital Measures Reporting Rules Proposed for Adoption
The Ohio Department of Health is pleased to announce that the hospital measures reporting rules have been
officially proposed.The public hearing will be conducted on
Tuesday, April 28, 2009 at 1:00p.m.
Ohio Department of Health,

Anyone is welcome to attend and present testimony. Persons intending to testify are encouraged to pre-
register by writing Kaye Norton, Office of the General Counsel, Ohio Department of Health, 246 North High
Street, Columbus, Ohio 43215, by telephoning 614-466-4882, or by e-mailing
Kaye.norton@odh.ohio.gov. Written testimony may be submitted to Ms. Norton by mail, fax [614-728-7813], or
e-mail by 10:00 a.m. on April 28, 2009.

HB 197 ODH Letter
This is our last opportunity to comment on the proposed rules. Keep in mind, as David Engler (OHA) says in
his attached letter, there are 92 proposed indicators, many of which many may be cumbersome to report and of
questionable value to consumers. Please consider sending your comments. I know that it will take a little time to
decipher the rules but hopefully your time will not be in vain. Here is some guidance on how to comment:
- Read the letter from David Engler from the Ohio Hospital Association. He has made some very elegant
points for you to consider. Feel free to involve your quality department as well.
- Review the Proposed rules and comment directly to Rosalie Weakland,OHA director of quality
improvements, by Monday, Feb. 16.
- Send those same comments (letter or email) by February, 23,2009 to:
